Greediness robs them of sense of impartial sharing

The one who is supposed to receive an arm

Would be demanding for the lap

The one who is supposed to receive the chest

Would be demanding for the lung

Ifa declaration to the Sixteen basic odu

When going to Olofin to decide who ruled them

It was due to their improper use of language

That the leader became the least follower

It was due to their improper use of language

It was due to their improper behaviour

That the leader became the least follower

It was due to their improper behavior

Ofun was not accepted as the leader by other basic Odu. Also, Olodumare did not impose him on them. He sent them to the earth for hunting expedition and requested feed back.

When they got to the earth, they hunted and divided the games among themselves. Ofunmeji always took the lap while Ejiogbe was always given the head which is bony. Olofin-Aye often sent for them for feast. He noticed that Ejiogbe was always in the front as he led the group the first day they landed on the planet earth. He always asked them"who leads you all?”. Their response was always "Ejiogbe".

One day, Olofin-Aye invited them for a feast. He killed a goat for them. They gave head of the animal to Ejiogbe as usual. Very early in the morning, Olofin-aye sent for Ejiogbe, he put him on a royal seat: dressed him royaly and crowned him. In the morning, he sent for the other odu. As they prostrated to great Olofin-aye, they also proatated to greet the other crowned king baside Olofin-Aye unknown that it was Ejiogbe. When they later realized that it was Ejiogbe they had been greeting "kaabiyesi", they were furious. Olofin-Aye defended himself by saying that they were the one who called him their "leader" and that he had always been in their front wherever they went. They responded that they did so because "the young one is better used to bell the cat". Then, Olofin-aye sang thus:

It was due to their improper use of language

That the leader became the least follower

It was due to their improper use of language

Olofin-aye also made them realise that he noticed that anytime they had meet to serve, they always gave head of the animal to Ejiogbe. Their response made it clear that it was because, head is full of no meat but bones that it was always given to the most junior of them.  This made Olofin sang thus:

It was for their improper behavior

That the most senior became the most junior

It was for their improper behavior.

There was crisis among them because, they were not happy about the enthronement of Ejiogbe which they considered an imposition. Their decision was to go back to the celestial world to solve the problem. They embarked on the demonstration to Olodumare with the song:

We just woke up only to meet our king on the throne

We just woke up and we meet Ejiogbe

We just woke up only to meet our king on the throne

They told Olodumare all that happened after which he asked for the portion of each of them in the games they killed on earth. Olodumare demanded to know why they gave the head which had little or no flesh to Ejiogbe always. Their defence did not hold water. He admonished them for their greediness and approaved the appointment of Ejiogbe as the king.  With sadness, they returned to the planet Earth

Cast Ifa for Ogbe while coming to the earth

They said he would not accomplish his mission

He was advised to make ebo

He complied

He said "if it is my case"

He said they are only telling lie

He said they are only deceiving themselves

He said"I will accomplish my mission"

Hoe never starts a farm row without accomplishment

Cutlass never starts a farm row without accomplishment

Crawling across the path is the act of inunurin

When kanranjangbon lays its hand on tree

It climbs it to the top.

A ni ki Ogbe rubo aseyori; eyele, eko, epo, owo, ada ati oko. Babalawo gun ose fun un pelu ewe kanranjangbon ati inunurin. O te eha oko, eha ada ati iyerosun ni odu re. O pe Ifa si i. O po o mo ose naa fun Ogbe lati maa fi we.

Ogbe was told to make ebo for accomplishment of his missions; pigeons, corn meal, palm oil, money, cutlass and a hoe. The babalawo made soap with kanranjangbon and inunurin leaves. He filed cutlass and hoe and mixed the dust from those items with iyerosun. He imprinted the odu on it. He recited the incantation, mixed it with the soap and gave it to Ogbe to bath.

Ojuoro was asked to make ebo to have children; rats, fish, hen and to stay close to riverine area. She did and became parent.
